The Telecos Galicia Forum 2025, organized by the Official Association of Telecommunications Technical Engineers of Galicia (Coettga), awarded the CEO of SPARC, Francisco Díaz, with the Enxeño prize this year for the Best Business Initiative for the creation and launch of Sparc Foundry. Coettga highlighted Díaz’s role in establishing the new European III-V semiconductor factory based in Vigo, a driving force for advanced technologies in communications, defense, sensing, and aerospace applications.
Díaz thanked them for the award and the honor it represents for him to receive this recognition from his professional peers, and he recalled that SPARC is the result of the work of the team and the partners who believed in a project born in Vigo, with a European vision. Awards like this, as the CEO added, “encourage us to continue demonstrating that from Spain we can make a very tangible contribution to the development of the semiconductor and integrated photonics industry in Europe.”
The Enxeño Awards recognize the work of the most outstanding telecommunications engineers in Galicia. The award ceremony, held at Pazo Tizón in Boborás, Ourense, was attended by professionals, technology companies, universities, and public administrations to analyze the present and future challenges of the sector and to honor notable figures from the Galician ICT ecosystem.
